Designing Your Wedding Day Tip #5…Have Fun! Monday Y’all,

My final Designing Your Wedding Day tip from the interview I did with Bridal Bar Radio is HAVE FUN!

Every couple needs to understand that there’s always a possibility that the day won’t go as perfectly as planned, and that’s okay! Just enjoy the process and you’re sure to have the best wedding day ever, which is what’s really important, right?

How did you choose your wedding design? What motivated you?

Designing Your Wedding Day Tip#4…Lighting

Hi Y’all,

Because lighting can have one of the biggest influences on the overlook look and feel of a wedding, be sure that you pay a lot of attention to getting lights that you feel are going to best represent the day.

Although using natural light is a beautiful way to light a wedding, it’s not always available. A few fun options include (and remember, there are no rules here!), candles placed in (various sizes of) mason jars, string lights (they can virtually wrap around anything), and paper lanterns.

Tip #5 will be available next week, so don’t forget to check in.

Happy weekend!

Designing Your Wedding Day Tip #3…Food Fare

Hi Y’all,

An important element to get right for your special day is the dining!

If you’re leaning towards a more formal wedding, then serving your guests at their table may be best. If you’re thinking about creating a more casual eating atmosphere, then family style is definitely worth looking further into.

Tip: If you’re low on table space, you can always add a few risers with organic flower arrangements underneath. This is a great way to display family style food platters and save room for everything else that needs to stay on the table.

Designing Your Wedding Day Tip #2…It’s All About the Dress

wedding dress

Hi Y’all,

My second tip when designing your wedding day is to always go to the dress as a starting point.

Because a wedding dress often tends to be very distinctive in its design, it can be the perfect inspiration that can help set the overall tone of the entire wedding. The bride should also rip out things that catch her eye in wedding magazines so she can put them all together to on a poster board in order to start forming a visual connection between the different elements.

How will your wedding dress influence the design aspects of your wedding?

Be sure to check in tomorrow for Tip #3!

Designing Your Wedding Day? #1 Rule is… There are No Rules

wedding shoes

Hey Y’all,

Springtime wedding season is fast approaching and because every newly engaged couple wants their wedding day to be special, it’s important for them to design it in any way that will make them happy. And since there are only a million different ways to design a wedding, I thought it would be a good idea to mention some of the more important things to think about when it comes to designing a wedding that will perfectly fit a bride and groom’s style.

I simply ask that you keep in mind when reading the tips below that there really are no rules that are set in stone when it comes to designing your wedding day. In fact, I think the most important thing for couples to remember is to have fun. It is your wedding day after all!

Tip #1: Be Unique, or Not! Don’t feel pressured to follow trends, and instead go with what makes you happy and represents who you are as a couple. If there’s currently a trend that really speaks to you, then be sure that you explore it further as it could be exactly what you’ve been looking for, or could spark a new idea. And thinking outside the box is always a good idea so you can put your own unique spin on it.

Be sure to check back in as I post a new tip each day this week from my interview on Bridal Bar Radio!
