According to Women’s Health, October is the slowest gym month of the year. Meaning, folks tend to fall (pun intended!) into a fitness slump this time of year and flake on the gym.

Today, in honor of #FitnessFriday, I’m sharing three of my best motivational tips for working out regularly in the fall–even if the weather is changing and you’re likely pounding wings and beer and watching football games on the weekends!
1. Sign up for a class. I use my work outs as a time to create structure in my crazy life. If I plan to go to the gym, especially when there is a class involved, I know that it starts and stops at a certain time, so that I can manage my day around that. My favorite class? Spin at Crunch gym!
2. Know yourself and your motivators/weaknesses. I’ve noticed that on the days that I make it to the gym, I also eat better. If I don’t make it to the gym, however, I tend to use the missed workout as an excuse to indulge… it is totally the reverse of how you would think it should be, but not for me!
3. Find a friend to work out with. When someone else is relying on you and you are relying on them, it is always easier to be somewhere, that includes the gym. It is the grown up version of the buddy system.
