January has already proven to be a very busy month, but I am thankful for all the work!
Upon returning from Palm Springs and judging the Miss California pageant, I headed to San Francisco where my business partner and I produced the premiere party for FOX’s awesome new show “Alcatraz.” Then, this past week has been full of meetings and ended with a trip to Utah for the Sundance Film Festival!
For one of my meetings, I spent some time in San Diego at the Grand Del Mar hotel, where we did a site inspection for a wedding we are producing in July. I also met with a couple of different clients for their upcoming events, and then it was off to Ojai for another site inspection at the Big Red Barn for a wedding in August. Then I jetted off to Utah for the parties and excitement of the Sundance Film Festival where we are working with Talent Resources out of New York to create the ultimate gifting suite for such brands as Rachel Roy, Judith Jack, Sean John, DL 1961, Sensa, Cream of Wheat, and Matt Bernson.
The gifting suite was completely full of celebrities, their publicists, and what seems like wall to wall people all day for three days straight. Celebrities like Maria Menounos, Mary J. Blige, Mario Lopez and AnnaLynne McCord, to name a few, partook in the swag being promoted in the suite.
Each night at Sundance was a non-stop party that went into the wee hours. I went to a party at TAO one night, which seems to be the hottest spot in all of Sundance… the space is what I think was at one time a parking structure and has been transformed into a thumping Vegas night club that is wall to wall people and decorated with grass mats hanging on the walls and their iconic giant buddas and statues everywhere.
Saturday, the snow was coming down so heavily, it was almost impossible to get anywhere quickly and for some, it was impossible to get anywhere at all. We spent the day flipping the gifting suite for a 2-hour YourBASH!, Talent Resources, IZZE, Christofle, and Beau Marchais party.
All in all, Sundance does not slow down, there seems to be something always going on and sadly, I didn’t get to see a single film, which is one of my favorite things to do.
Today I’m headed straight to San Diego to set up an event for “Operation Shower”, an organization that throws baby showers for military wives, which I’ll also be playing emcee for on Tuesday. The event is sponsored by Pottery Barn Kids and Carl’s Jr. and I promise to share pictures of the table we designed for the guests!
