Tis’ the Season for a Gourmet Grilled Cheese Party

Hey Ya’ll,

Today I’m sharing another frugal but fabulous party idea to help you and yours celebrate the season! To get this party started, tell your friends to head to your home with their favorite cheese and a bottle of vino in tow. Let them know you’ll be providing plenty of bread and a wide variety of gourmet fixings to create delicious grilled cheese sandwiches with!

Encourage guests to seek out rare cheeses and to branch out and try something new—even if they can’t pronounce the name or stand the smell—it might be absolutely delicious when paired with the right ingredients!

Bonus Tip: Ask your friends to bring any portable griddles, panini presses or George Foreman grills they may have lying around the house. This will speed up the cooking process.

For the host, here’s a few suggestions for items to have on hand: pears, blueberries, blackberries, honey, basil, pesto, salami, prosciutto, onion, jalapenos, tomatoes, avocados, spinach, olive oil, sea salt, ground pepper, red peppers, garlic, brown sugar, tomato soup, butter and plenty of spatulas.

Have you ever hosted a party where your guests experimented with a specific type of food? Let me know in the comment section below.

  1. my husband makes a great pizza dough. so once we made up a few dough’s and invited guests to a pizza party. they groaned a little when they realized the pizza’s weren’t there and ready to eat immediately but they had a ball rolling out the dough and adding their own toppings. baking only takes about 20 minutes!
